Chardham Yatra by Helicopter 2026: Detailed Tour Package from Visakhapatnam Guide

Day 1: Dehradun

Arrival, Hotel Transfer, and Yatra Briefing

At Dehradun airport or railway station (start and end point of your journey), you will be received by our team member and taken to your hotel. It takes nearly one hour from the Dehradun airport to the Dehradun hotel. Your night stay is arranged at the Dehradun Hotel with dinner.

It will be more convenient if you arrive at Dehradun by 4:00 pm to start the Chardham yatra by helicopter the next day. The Yatra is going to start early in the morning, so reaching the starting point before time can give you a proper rest to start your trip energised.

You will get duffel bags and the necessary information about the Yatra in the evening. The bags are for you to carry stuff in them because you are not allowed more than 5 kg per person. Suitcases, trolleys, and heavy bags are not permitted in the helicopter due to weight constraints. You are also provided with the flying slot on the subsequent day, so that you can be prepared by the time of your turn.

Besides this, pilgrims are given key contact numbers of our team members present at every Dham, who guide them through their Chardham Yatra from Visakhapatnam.

Day 2: Yamunotri Dham

Dehradun Helipad to Kharsali Helipad

After finishing the morning check-out from the hotel, you will move towards the Dehradun Sahastradhara Helipad. Our ground staff will hand you the pre-flight briefing in the waiting lounge, and then you will board the helicopter. After you reach Kharsali, our staff at the helipad will take you to the hotel. Then your journey to the Yamunotri Dham will begin.

You can use a palki or a pony, whichever is available on the spot, to cover the distance of 6 km long Yamunotri trek. Then, do the VIP darshan of the Yamunotri Temple. You can also take a sightseeing tour of the Hot spring, which is located close to the Yamunotri Temple. Later, come back to Kharsali for an overnight stay and dinner at the hotel, which marks the end of the day.

On arrival at Kharsali Helipad, our local team will assist you and transfer you to the hotel. After a brief rest, your journey to Yamunotri Dham begins. The 6 km trek is completed by palki or pony, based on availability.

Enjoy VIP darshan at Yamunotri Temple, followed by a visit to the nearby hot springs. Return to Kharsali for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Gangotri Dham

Kharsali to Harsil Helipad

You proceed to Kharsali Helipad for a flight to Harsil Helipad for Gangotri Dham on day three, which is the second stop of the Chardham Yatra from Visakhapatnam. The place is known for its beautiful locations and long rows of apple trees. When you arrive at the Harsil helipad, our crew greets you there and takes you to the hotel check-in.

After finishing your breakfast on arrival at the hotel, we shall head to Gangotri Dham for darshan. The distance of Gangotri Dham is approximately 20 km, which can be covered by car in 45 minutes. Return to Harsil after Gangotri darshan, and you can also take nature walks in nearby areas. Then, have dinner and stay overnight at a hotel.

Day 4: Kedarnath Dham

Fly to Kedarnath Helipad

On day 4, you will go to any of these helipads close to Kedarnath Dham, like Sersi, Guptkashi, or Phata, from the Harsil helipad.

You can take a 7-minute shuttle to the Kedarnath Ji temple. From the Kedarnath helipad, the temple is about 500 meters away, so you can cover the distance on foot in 10 minutes. After the darshan of Kedarnath, through shuttle services, pilgrims can return to the same helipad from where they took the flight. In the evening, they are returned to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Badrinath Dham

Guptkashi Helipad to Badrinath Helipad

The fifth day is for you to proceed towards the Guptkashi helipad to travel to Badrinath Dham after breakfast at the hotel. After lunch at the hotel by car you are brought to the Badrinath darshan, the last Dham of the Yatra.

You can go sightseeing in the Mana village, the “Last village of India” near the India-China border. Once you are done there, you head back to the hotel for dinner and for an overnight stay during your Chardham Yatra from Visakhapatnam.

Day 6: Dehradun

Badrinath to Dehradun Helipad

The last day is for you to proceed towards the helipad of Badrinath to fly back to Dehradun after breakfast in the hotel.

Terms and Conditions

Fixed Timings: This is a daily fixed departure tour. Please report as per the scheduled departure time. Late reporting will be treated as a no-show, and no refund will apply.
COVID Guidelines: All passengers must follow government-issued COVID protocols. Boarding may be denied without a refund if the rules are not followed.
Helicopter Weight Limit: Each helicopter carries a maximum of 450 kg (total weight of passengers). Passengers must share their accurate body weight at booking, measured with shoes, wallet, and phone. The pilot’s decision is final for safety and load distribution. Seat allocation and flight timing may vary as per weight management.
Overweight Charges: Passengers weighing above 75 kg will be charged ₹2,100 per extra kg. Any discrepancy in declared weight will lead to extra charges or denial of boarding without refund.
Baggage Policy: Only one duffel bag, i.e., 2 to 5 kgs per passenger, is allowed. We will not permit passengers to travel with Suitcases or hard luggage on the helicopter. Extra luggage can be stored at the hotel’s cloakroom. If the group’s total weight exceeds the limit, baggage may be sent by road at ₹60,000, shared among passengers.
Arrival Requirement: Passengers must arrive in Dehradun one day before departure. A complimentary night's stay is included in the package.
Capacity & Infants: Each helicopter carries 6 passengers + 1 crew member. Infants below 2 years or 12 kg travel free (we will need an ID proof).
Bad Weather / Force Majeure: If flights are delayed due to weather or other unforeseen reasons, the journey will resume on the next available day. The itinerary may change due to air traffic, VVIP movement, technical issues, or natural conditions. Extra stay or travel costs during delays will be borne by passengers.
Fitness & Temperature: Pilgrims should be physically fit. Carry warm clothing, as temperatures can drop to 2°C or below at night.
Photography: Photography is allowed in the Himalayan ranges but prohibited inside temples.
Assistance: Our on-ground crew is available at all Dhams to assist passengers throughout the Yatra.
Mobile Network: Connectivity is limited at Harsil and Badrinath. BSNL and Jio work best, so make necessary arrangements so you don’t face disruptions.
Legal Compliance: All flights comply with the Carriage by Air Act, 1972, covering passenger and baggage liability as per Indian aviation regulations.

General Information

All temples in the Chardham sector are located at high altitudes; therefore, passengers are advised to carry medication during travel. Also, they are advised to carry heavy woollen clothing with them, because, during evenings & nights, the temperature can drop drastically.
Kedarnath temple has three base camps, i.e., Phata / Guptkashi / Sersi. In the case of big groups, flying in different helicopters may land at different base camps on different helipads. We have to complete the entire yatra as per the group in the same helicopter since each helicopter has different flying timings and permissions. While changing the helicopter at Kedarnath or Guptkashi, the waiting time is between 10 minutes to 3 hrs., depending on Shuttle slots/weather conditions or technical reasons.
Sometimes we may change the property in an emergency (like a landslide on the way to the property, electricity, or any other natural circumstances). We may try to provide other properties of the same or an upper category. Due to the high rush, hotels can be changed at any place, but we will ensure to provide a similar category accommodation.
All passengers will be taken to all the helipads at least 1 hour before the departure time. In this case, sometimes you may have to wait for the government helipad.
One cab will be provided to the group of up to 6 passengers wherever required. We’ll reserve the entire 6-seat full charter for a family group of 5 individuals.

Payment Policy for Chardham Yatra by Helicopter

Booking Procedure, Cancellation & Refund Policy

Please share your Exact Body Weight (should be measured by wearing shoes, and carrying a wallet/bag/phone) so we can select appropriate charter seats for you. A helicopter can carry up to 450 kg. Body weight of all six passengers. The average body weight will be 75 kg. per person. If your weight is more than 75 kg, then contact our team which will assist you further in this regard. Your body weight will be measured before commencing the Yatra. Companies have full rights to de-board a passenger in case the actual body weight exceeds the weight given by passengers. Kindly don’t share any assumed body weight.
AADHAR Card copies are to be shared with us by all Indian passengers & passport copies in case of foreign nationals.
Provide us with your flight arrival and departure details.
After getting the seat confirmation from us, you need to deposit 50% Advance Amount to guarantee the tour, and the rest of the 50% Balance Amount you need to deposit 21 days before your Yatra date. Passengers will not be permitted to board or commence the tour unless full & final payment for the tour has been made.
Vaayu Aviation reserves the right to cancel passengers, who are unruly, abusive, intoxicated, sick, mentally unfit, or anyone else whom we deem to be unsafe to fly. No refund shall be done to such passenger(s).
There is no provision of concession to children or senior citizens for helicopter yatra.
In case the journey is not finished within the given time and passengers would not be able to Dham due to bad weather conditions/technical reasons. In this scenario company will still try to visit all Dham by extending the timeframe. The company will do all the Dhams on the next day if the weather condition remains poor the whole day and so on. We recommend you book your return flight one day or two days later. The company will not bear any cancellation of flights at any cost. Any Extra Night halt due to bad weather or any circumstances will be borne by the customers only.
*In case for 02 straight days flying does not take place due to bad weather, Yatra will be called off and a full refund minus 20% (management fees) as per our policies will be made to the passengers. For extra days of accommodation, Yatri has to pay the charges directly at the hotel.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If passengers cancel their booking prior to or after the commencement of the tour, the following cancellation charges will be applicable:
- Cancellation Before 45 Days prior to the Yatra date – 25% of the total tour cost will be charged as retention
- Cancellation Between 45-30 Days prior to the Yatra date – 50% of the Total tour Cost will be charged as retention
- Cancellation Between 30-0 Days before Yatra date – No Refund, 100% amount will be charged as retention
- Cancellation due to Covid: No Refund will be provided (100% amount will be forfeited)
- No Show – No Refund will be provided
- COVID-19 Case, or any National/State Emergency: In case passengers test COVID positive before the travel, or the Yatra gets called off by the government, or any National or State emergency is imposed and the Yatra gets canceled, there will be NO REFUNDS POLICY applicable.

Force Majeure and Bad Weather Refunds

Basis of Refund
- Tour Cost: 25% of the total tour cost for each unutilized travel sector (Dham), minus INR 25,000 per person toward the flight preparation & ground arrangement charges.
- Additional Services: Deduction of any additional services provided at any of the Dhams during the tour of the passengers will be deducted over & above the refundable Tour Cost.
- Refunds against any unutilized service will not be calculated separately and added to the refundable amount.
- If flying is not possible due to bad weather at Dehradun, then 20% will be deducted and the balance will be refunded to the guest.
Bad Weather and Force Majeure Policies
- Where bad weather, technical snags, or any force majeure reason beyond Vaayu Aviation Services’ control results in the cancellation of your flight being delayed or canceled, Vaayu Aviation will not be liable in any way for the canceled or delayed flight. However, a refund will be given to clients as per our refund policy. Any kind of inconvenience caused because of the cancellation of flights is beyond the control of the operator. No compensation or reimbursement for accommodation, transportation, meals, or any other extra travel expenses done by the passengers shall be offered in the event of cancellation of a flight.
- In case the tour departure does not take place from Dehradun on Day One due to the above reasons, the tour will be considered canceled and a full refund minus 20%, will be refunded immediately as per our policies will be made.
- In case the tour departs from Dehradun as per schedule but gets disrupted, while the tour is ongoing, our team will propose the possible revised itinerary within the scheduled package days, but without any extension of days.
- Any extension, proposed by the passengers, in the package will only be considered at an extra cost and subject to operational availability.
- New Chardham passenger(s) scheduled for departure from Dehradun on any respective travel date shall be our top priority, over the back-log passenger(s) of previous days(s).
- Additional night halt charges will be payable by the passengers to hotels on a direct payment basis when they get stuck for additional nights due to bad weather/force majeure reasons.
- If any passenger(s) requires ferry flights to be operated for them in an emergency, the cost for the same will be charged to the party @ INR 155,000/hr plus GST.
- While the tour is ongoing, if any group demands to cancel their tour mid-way, the arrangement of transportation will be done by Vaayu Aviation, however, the cost for the same will be borne by the passengers on a direct payment basis.
- Any increase in government levies or taxes or special Darshan or Palki after the confirmation of booking will be extra chargeable to the passengers. Payment against the same will have to be made before the commencement of the tour.
VIP Darshans at all Dhams are discontinued as per the instructions of Uttarakhand Govt* we will try to cover your VIP Dhams through our handlers there and might be on one or two Dhams you need to pay 1500-2000/- per person for darshan.
